Katy Bircher is well established as a specialist of early flutes. Appearing regularly with such groups as the Gabrieli Consort, the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, the Kings Consort, the English Concert and La Serenissima.

Katy has performed in Europe, the States and the Far East and features as principal flute on the controversial new recording of Bach's St Matthew Passion with the Gabrieli Consort (Deutsche Grammophon). With La Serenissima she has performed many of Vivaldi's flute concertos, including several newly discovered works, and this year she will be performing concertos by CPE Bach, Quantz, Franz Benda, Pergolesi and Telemann.
