Caldara, Conti and Vivaldi   The musical legacy of Holy Roman Emperor Charles VI is commemorated with vocal and instrumental works by Viennese court composers Antonio Caldara and Francesco Conti, as well as Vivaldi, whose hopes of local preferment were dashed by the Emperor’s death. In February 2019 La Serenissima returns to Cedars Hall in Wells to record its flagship programme The Godfather. The musical world of 18th-century Europe was a small one.
