Gloucester Choral Society: Handel Messiah
November 29 | 7:00 pm – 9:30 pm

La Serenissima are delighted to join Gloucester Choral Society for Handel’s Messiah to open the Advent season. Under Adrian Partington, Gloucester Choral Society’s superb chorus partners with La Serenissima, led from the violin by Adrian Chandler, with Jonathan Hope at chamber organ. Expect precision, energy and the vivid colours revealed by close attention to Handel’s urtext—from the lift of “Every valley” and the thunder of “Hallelujah” to the blaze of “Worthy is the Lamb” into “Amen.” With four outstanding young soloists, this is Messiah both heartfelt and thrilling.
La Serenissima are two-time winners of the Gramophone Award for Baroque Instrumental and have topped the UK Specialist Classical Chart. Join us and Gloucester Choral Society to begin Christmas 2025 in style.
