November News

30th November 2023

Thank you to everyone who has supported us this month. ‘Brescianello Unlocked‘ made it into the UK Classical Chart, which we hope will help to elevate the profile of this lesser-known Italian Baroque composer even further.

The album received a double 5-star BBC Music Magazine review: “His playing is brilliantly skilful, immediate and engaging. The handling of the cadenza at the end of the Sixth Concerto (one of the first cadenzas to appear in print) is especially impressive. Chandler is partnered in true concertante style by the string players of La Serenissima, who come into their own in the three sinfonias (or ‘sinphonias’) that make up the rest of the set and further reveal Brescianellos’s gift for melodic writing.”

Remember you can buy all our CDs on the website (£15 or 3 @ £40) – we now have all titles available at the La Serenissima office. Every purchase helps support our music and they make perfect stocking fillers for the music-lover in your life.

We return to Wigmore Hall for our final concert of the year, playing The Four Seasons and lesser-known Christmas works by Valentini and Zavateri.

7:30pm Monday 11 December Wigmore Hall
The Four Seasons plus music by Valentini, Zavateri, Gregori & Vivaldi

We are sad to learn of the death of The Pogues frontman Shane McGowan – the group’s authentic sound has provided inspiration to Adrian’s music-making for many decades. Here are some of Ade’s favourite tracks from the band if you fancy listening to some of the music that has inspired him.

If you would enjoy receiving a Christmas card from the orchestra, please reply to this email with your name and postal address!

Thank you for your support for our work – we are so grateful.
