Tartini 250 coming soon!

28th July 2021

Thanks to the generosity of our Serene Recovery Funders, La Serenissima is on course to make a new album of sonatas by extraordinary violinist-composer Giuseppe Tartini. Our Tartini 250 plan had to become Tartini 250+1 in response to Covid-19’s derailment of group music-making. Adrian is ecstatic to be recording this album at last which will include the notoriously difficult work known as The Devil’s Trill this coming August.

We return to Cedars Hall, Wells to make the record with a small but perfectly-formed ensemble including artists Adrian Chandler (Director/violin), Vladimir Waltham (cello), Robin Bigwood (harpsichord) and Lynda Sayce (theorbo). We are planning to work with Bill Lloyd and team to create further digital outreach videos, on the back of a very successful collaboration last month, funded by Arts Council England (Culture Recovery Fund, Round 2) and Continuo Foundation.

You can see a short clip here from a recent live recital for Kirker Holidays of the group performing some of the music by the Slovenian-born virtuoso Tartini, back in June this year.

There is still time to bag a track on this new release! Please contact camilla@laserenissima.co.uk if you’d like to make a specific donation to the recording or a general donation to our Serene Recovery Fund which underpins all our activities during 2021-22.
